Twinspur is a mat-forming perennial from southern Africa that grows 12 inches tall and 18 inches wide with pink blooms from spring to fall. In hot summer climates it may quit blooming in the heat of the summer. Shear the plant back to encourage fall blooms. They do best in climates with lower humidity. Twinspur prefers moist, organically rich, well drained soils and blooms best in full to part sun. Twinspur can be grown as an annual and does well in containers and hanging baskets. In the garden plant in borders, along walkways or in rock gardens. It will add many weeks of color to your garden.
