'Sunshine Superman' tickseed is an herbaceous perennial wildflower cultivar in the daisy (Asteraceae) family. This cultivar is more compact and floriferous than the species, though it's not quite as winter hardy. It grows in a mound 10 to 12 inches tall and 6 to 8 inches wide. Plant in full sun and dry to medium, well-drained soil. As it is native to rocky areas, it grows well in poor, rocky, and sandy soil. It is drought, heat, and humidity-tolerant as well. Deadhead spent flowers to prolong blooming. The showy bright yellow flowers have notched petals surrounding a darker center if disc flowers in summer. Use this plant in borders, containers, or naturalized areas. It is a vegetative clone but may self-seed true if happy. Insects, Diseases, and Other Plant Problems: No serious problems.
